Three flavours of Paleobrittle by The Kale Factory
These bites are great if you want to just have a little “something.” The pieces vary in size, so it’s hard to say exactly how many calories or grams of fat are in each serving. Two out of the three bags have less than 90 calories per serving, while the Turmeric is around 135. But calories aren’t everything – especially if you’re more on the moderate to higher active side like me. Ingredients and types of fat matter as well – sometimes MORE! And I typically don’t have even close to one serving – I’m more of a nibbler.
Out of the three packages I tried, I would have to say that my favourite one is the Banana Nut Crunch. It’s more on the sweet side, which is usually not my kind of thing. But I DO love bananas! Raw Turmeric comes in a somewhat close second. Besides turmeric, ingredients include coconut, honey (it’s in all three I purchased), curry powder and nuts. It, too, is a little sweet, but this one has a bit more of an umami taste. Apple Pecan Pie, however, comes in a very distant third. I found it to be a bit on the tart side. It was a little bit fake-tasting too, but there are no artificial ingredients listed, so it just could be the dried apples themselves. Maybe it just needs a little more cinnamon and honey.

Here’s a piece of Paleobrittle next to its bag
According to The Kale Factory website, there are two other flavours – Honey Lemon Ginger and Coconut Curry (I’m wondering if it is replacing Raw Turmeric, as I do not see the flavour online). I’m definitely going to pick THOSE up the next time I see them! And yes, I’ll either give it a full review (here) or just a small blurb on Instagram!
Have you tried any of The Kale Factory’s snacks? What are your thoughts? What are YOUR favourite “healthier” snacks?
