‘What’s the Difference?’ Talks About Mental Health

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so it’s fitting that What’s the Difference? would drop an episode on this very topic. With everything going on right now with the pandemic as well as our own health issues, adding a(n invisible) disability can make things even harder or stressful.

I’m really glad that we’re talking about this as I was able to touch on how some groups stigmatize the issue more than others – it’s important to bring this up as while many understand that linguistic challenges can be at play, but don’t understand that cultural influences might prevent people from seeking help when they need it. And this is regardless of whether they’re looking for someone who is from the same or similar culture or not (yes, I’m one of those who would prefer NOT to see someone from a similar cultural background. I’ve had enough shaming from people of my heritage).

I hope you enjoy this month’s episode and if you haven’t already subscribed, I urge you to do so (so you’d be alerted when new episodes drop)! Looking for the audio version? Here’s the link to Anchor. Don’t forget that we’re also available on other Podcast/streaming services like Spotify, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast!
